Tour de Vaughn at North Canton YMCA

The North Canton YMCA will hold its annual Tour de Vaughn to benefit the Living Strong Living Well program for adult cancer survivors.

Sunday, Oct. 19

1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

North Canton YMCA

The Tour de Vaughn is a cycling event named in memory of Vaughn Prude, a cycling instructor at the Y, whose life was cut short by prostate cancer. Participants sign up to ride stationary bicycles in half-hour increments. Cost per time slot is $25. Participants can also secure pledges for their rides.

All money raised is used to offset expenses of the Living Strong Living Well program, a small-group strength and fitness training program. Exercises focus on improving balance, strength and endurance. A weekly nutrition component is provided by the Aultman North Canton Medical Group. The Y hopes to be able to raise enough funds to offer an evening class time in addition to its Tuesday/Thursday class.

Those who wish to participate in Tour de Vaughn can sign up at the YMCA front desk or online at www.ymcastark.org/north-canton-community-building-ymca. Click on the the “online registration” link and enter “Tour de Vaughn” in the program field.
